RED DE CIUDADES CREATIVAS

A partir de la experiencia de Dénia y la Marina Alta con su local food ecosystem, se propone compartir con la Red de Ciudades Creativas de la UNESCO conocimientos en torno a ese modelo de alimentación local sostenible, respetuoso con el medio y basado en un legado cultural asumido, protegido y valorizado por toda la sociedad.

Crear grupos de trabajo para identificar aquellos ecosistemas alimentarios locales que puedan existir en las ciudades de la red UCCN, y promover las buenas prácticas (producción agrícola, comercialización, concienciación del consumidor y su aplicación a la industria creativa gastronómica) para la transferencia de conocimiento.
Acciones: Creación de un decálogo de buenas prácticas gastronómicas para las ciudades participantes. Cursos de innovación gastronómica para cocineros profesionales. Intercambios y encuentros transnacionales de profesionales y estudiantes de cocina.
Agentes: Ayuntamientos de Dénia y la Marina Alta, ciudades integrantes de la UCCN, organizaciones profesionales de la cadena gastronómica y centros de formación.
Resultados: Activación de modelos de desarrollo alimentario y gastronómico sostenibles. Perfeccionamiento de los sistemas como consecuencia del intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias. Estrechamiento de vínculos culturales y compromisos de colaboración.

TANGER/OPEN ÁFRICA

La ciudad de Dénia ha iniciado contactos de hermanamiento con la ciudad de Tánger (Marruecos). El vínculo se ha establecido a iniciativa de la Fundación Cultural Baleària, adscrita a la naviera que une Dénia con las Islas Baleares, y los puertos del norte de África con la Península Ibérica. La gastronomía, el patrimonio y el paisaje de Dénia mantiene un importante legado de su pasado histórico (la Daniya musulmana), y las aguas de Tánger han sido tradicionalmente fuente de pesca de nuestras barcas. Los dos proyectos que presentamos, bajo el título genérico TÁNGER/OPEN ÁFRICA, tienen por objeto establecer puentes de comunicación y promover los principios de la Red de Ciudades Creativas de la UNESCO, en una ciudad de peso político, cultural y económico (Tánger), en un país emergente (Marruecos), y en un continente aún no incorporado a la red UCCN (África).

Tánger/Twinning

Establecer un convenio de hermanamiento que estimule la cooperación transfronteriza entre organizaciones culturales y creativas de Dénia y Tánger, y especialmente en los ámbitos de la gastronomía, la música y el cine.
Acciones: Constituir un Comité de Hermanamiento que determine las bases de la relación. Crear una Plataforma de Operadores Culturales que facilite la presencia de artistas y creadores de ambas ciudades en los festivales, muestras y eventos de carácter cultural que se organicen en ellas. Convenio de formación e investigación.
Agentes: Ayuntamientos de Dénia y Tánger; instituciones culturales y artísticas; asociaciones de gastronomía, turismo y hostelería; Red de Ciudades Creativas de la UNESCO (UCCN); y Fundación Balearia.
Resultados: Estimulación del sector artístico y creativo local. Conocimiento cultural recíproco. Más oportunidades de formación y de proyección exterior para profesionales, empresas y creadores. Acuerdos de colaboración en campos creativos. Divulgación de los objetivos de la UCCN.

Tánger/Ecosystem

Reconocer e impulsar el ecosistema local de alimentación de Tánger. Intercambiar experiencias gastronómicas.
Acciones: Programación de encuentros transnacionales. Planeamiento de investigaciones y acciones tendentes a consolidar modelos de desarrollo alimentario sostenibles. Promoción de productos autóctonos. Intercambios en formación y experiencia profesional.
Agentes: Ayuntamientos de Dénia y Tánger; asociaciones empresariales y sociedad civil de Dénia y Tánger; Red de Ciudades Creativas de la UNESCO (UCCN); y Fundación Baleària.
Resultados: Avanzar en modelos propios de ecosistemas de alimentación local. Crear nuevos espacios de diálogo intercultural. Circulación y divulgación de tradiciones muy diversas entre ciudades y pueblos.

CREATIVE CITIES NETWORK

Based on the experience of Dénia and the Marina Alta with its local food ecosystem, we propose sharing with the UNESCO Creative Cities Network our knowledge of this sustainable and local food model, respectful of the environment and based on a cultural heritage that is acknowledged, protected and valued by the society at large.

Create work groups to identify those local food ecosystems of other cities of the UCCN, and promote good practices (agricultural production, commercialisation, awareness-raising amongst consumers, and its application to the creative gastronomy industry) for the transfer of knowledge.
Actions: Creation of a Decalogue of good practices in gastronomy for participating cities. Courses on gastronomical innovation for professional chefs. Exchanges and transnational meetings for professionals and culinary students.
Agents: City Councils of Dénia and the Marina Alta, member cities of the UCCN, professional organisations of the gastronomy chain and training centres.
Results: Activation of sustainable development models related with food and gastronomy. Refinement of the systems as a result of the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Strengthening of cultural ties and collaborative agreements.

TANGIER/OPEN AFRICA

The city of Dénia has launched a relationship as twin towns with Tangier (Morocco). This link has been established thanks to the initiative of the Balearia Cultural Foundation of the Balearia shipping line that joins Dénia with the Balearic Islands, and the ports of North Africa with the Iberian Peninsula. Dénia’s gastronomy, heritage and landscape maintains an important historical legacy (the Muslim Daniya), and the waters of Tangier have traditionally been a source of fishing for our boats. The goal of the two projects we present, generically titled TANGIER/OPEN AFRICA, is to build bridges for communication and promote the principles of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, in a city of political, cultural and economic weight (Tangier), in an emerging country (Morocco), in a country that is not yet a member of the UCCN (Africa).

Tangier/Twinning

To establish a twinning agreement that stimulates cross-border cooperation between cultural and creative organisations of Dénia and Tangier, particularly in the realms of gastronomy, music and film.
Actions: Establish a Twinning Committee to define the bases of the relationship. Create a Platform of Cultural Operators that facilitates the presence of artists and creators from both cities in festivals, exhibitions and cultural events organised in both. Agreement for training and research.
Agents: City Councils of Dénia and Tangier; cultural and artistic institutions; gastronomy, tourism and hotel and restaurant associations; UCCN; Balearia Foundation.
Results: Stimulation of the local artistic and creative sector. Reciprocal exchange of cultural knowledge. More opportunities for training and promotion abroad for professionals, businesses and creators. Collaboration agreements in creative fields. Dissemination of the goals of the UCCN.

Tangier/Ecosystem

 Acknowledge and boost the local food ecosystem of Tangier. Exchange gastronomical experiences.
Actions: Planning of transnational meetings. Design of research projects and actions for consolidating sustainable development models related with food. Promotion of autochthonous products. Exchanges of training and professional experience.
Agents: City Councils of Dénia and Tangier; associations of business owners and civil society in Dénia and Tangier; UCCN; Balearia Foundation.
Results: Advance in our own models of local food ecosystems. Create new spaces for intercultural dialogue. Flow and dissemination of highly diverse traditions between cities and towns.
